Dear friends, followers and supporters of the Bitcoin community in Saigon / Vietnam,
While the Christmas Satoshi Flea Market 2025 - the 4th in our ongoing series of public community gatherings in this format - turned out to be by far the most successful one in terms of turnout, organizational and logistical execution, as well as overall good vibes and community connections, the organizer team has decided to pause the Flea Market for the previously scheduled Summer edition 2026.
While we would have loved to keep the old schedule going, we have to take into account the hard realities of the resource constraints we are faced with when organizing these events.
As these events are organized by an unpaid volunteer crew of Bitcoin enthusiasts, who spend weeks ahead of each event handling the organizational and logistical work required to make it all come together, this is unfortunately not a rhythm we can keep up with given the demands that our professional and family lives place on all of us.
Priorities must be set accordingly, especially in the volatile and fast-moving world we live in today. :)
Additionally, we also have to take into account that the last event ended slightly in the negative - and while accumulated community reserves over the years were able to absorb the financial deficit incurred, it is also a signal for us to proceed more slowly and deliberately, as the core organizer crew of the community is entrusted by all core members to treat the financial situation of the community with due care.
It is not sustainable to run events on a loss-making basis. Hence, we will reduce the regularity to one Flea Market per year, in line with the level of donations we are able to gather over the course of a year.
However, in making this decision, the organizer team also committed itself to keeping the tradition alive - and to bringing back the Satoshi Flea Market Saigon for the Christmas edition later this year.
We are counting on your support - in word, deed and Sats - to help us make this event a delightful one for everyone involved: a good time for friends, family, and the next generation in a peaceful gathering of Bitcoiners and productive, Bitcoiner-aligned people who share a similar ethical code of conduct.
We hope to receive the support required to keep this - from now on annual - tradition going, and we are looking forward to seeing you again for the Christmas Flea Market Saigon 2026!
