While the year for the Bitcoin scene in Vietnam started on a sad note with the demise of long-standing community supporter Neutron and the cancellation of our Satoshi Summer Flea Market, we are glad to also share some positive news:
Da Nang finally has its very own Bitcoin meetup.
Yes - Bitcoin Meetup with a capital ₿.
No Web3 / blockchain / crypto gobbledygook.
Meetups are currently planned on a monthly basis at changing locations. We will do our best to amplify announcements coming from the Da Nang community.

As we had to learn ourselves in the earlier years:
A high level of intolerance towards questionable characters with questionable choices and questionable backgrounds is required to keep a community in healthy shape.
As such, we would also like to forward the message from the organizers:
If you are some “Crypto Bro” or “Blockchain / Web3 / AI” project dabbler, this is likely not the place you are looking for — and you will probably feel rather unwelcome.
While Da Nang certainly also has its fair share of crypto hustlers among the digital nomad population, we wish the team in Da Nang the best of luck in navigating this environment to keep bad actors & dull minds out and will support them in any way we can.
Aside from the well-established Saigon community, which has been running since 2014, we are happy to see that - after Hanoi began forming its own Bitcoin Meetup two years ago - the orange flag is now also being raised in another major Vietnamese city.
We hope to see many collaborative efforts across the Vietnam-based Bitcoin communities & hope to welcome guests from each city to the planned Satoshi Christmas Flea Market in Saigon at the end of 2026.
