Asia’s Bitcoin communities have another date for the calendar.

On 7-8 November 2026, the Bitcoin Korea Conference will bring Korean and international Bitcoiners together in Seoul for its third edition. With talks, workshops and a Lightning Market, the gathering offers an opportunity to meet the people building, teaching and putting Bitcoin to use in Korea.

Some of our community members made the long trip up to Seoul earlier this year for ORIGINSEOUL 2026 and had nothing but positive things to say about what they saw and experienced in the South Korean capital.

For those of us in Vietnam, November’s gathering offers another chance to get to know our regional Bitcoin neighbours, exchange experiences, compare notes and make connections that last long after the conference weekend.

Meet the builders

The announced speaker lineup brings together developers, entrepreneurs, educators and community organisers from Korea and abroad.

Among them are Louis Ko, whose work includes Coconut Wallet and Bitcoin Center Seoul; Robin, founder of the Bitcoin in Pusan community; and Daniel James, founder of Wallet of Satoshi.

International contributors include Adam Gibson, known for his work on JoinMarket and Bitcoin privacy, Stephan Livera, and Dea Rezkitha, whose work with Fedi and the Indonesian Bitcoin community will be familiar to many Bitcoiners in Southeast Asia.

The programme gives attendees plenty to explore, from Lightning payments and building local communities to privacy, custody and the technical questions facing Bitcoin’s development. For anyone running a meetup, building a product or helping local businesses accept Bitcoin, there should be plenty of conversations to bring home.

Bring some spending sats ⚡

A particular draw is the conference’s Lightning Market, where attendees can buy food, goods and art with Bitcoin. The organisers also plan to help newcomers set up a wallet and make their first payment.

That part should feel familiar to anyone who has joined our Satoshi Flea Markets in Saigon.

There is something satisfying about seeing the whole thing work: a merchant offering something people want, a customer scanning a QR code, and a payment settling in seconds. It also gives merchants and community organisers a chance to exchange practical experience - what works, where people get stuck, and how to make the next payment easier.

Strengthening Bitcoin’s “layer zero”

For us, regional gatherings are also about the human connections that form Bitcoin’s true base layer. Meeting in person helps our communities share knowledge, resources and expertise, and find opportunities to join forces. A developer in Seoul, a merchant in Indonesia and a community organiser in Vietnam may be working through similar problems without having met each other yet.

A conversation over a meal can be the beginning of changing that.

More happening around the conference

For those planning a longer stay, the published side-event programme includes bitcoin++ Seoul on 5-6 November, focused on privacy and peer-to-peer exchange, and a 5 km Run for Hal on 7 November, honouring Hal Finney and supporting ALS research.

There is also a DIY Bitcoin signing-device workshop on 10 November for anyone keen to get hands-on with the hardware. Check the individual event details when planning your visit.
